There's something about our own mini tennis championships that brings out the best in our players. Once again we had some great matches in both the boys and girls tournaments.
All four girls played particularly well, with every match decided by just two points. I look forward to some of that form being carried forward to next year's league. Last year’s finalist Louise finally got her name on the trophy with Bethan as runner-up and Niamh and Rachael semi-finalists.
With some strong contenders among the twelve entrants, the boys had to work hard to secure a place in the final four. At the end Gregor equalled the record by becoming 3-time winner, with Ayrshire champion Iain runner-up. Semi finalists were Luke and Joseph.
My thanks to Gillian and Aidan for umpiring throughout the two hours of the boys' matches, without which the tournament would not have run so smoothly.
